the Rocky River 2A Conference.

News and Information:
Piedmont hosted a meet at
Wingate University with Monroe and Forest
Hills attending. PHS had several swimmers
make their time cuts for the 1A/2A Regional
Meet that will
be held in February. Piedmont swept the meet
with the boys and girls both posting great
times.
Final Scores were:
Boys: Piedmont 115
Girls: Piedmont 156

Regional time cuts:
Boys 200 Medley Relay Team: Alex Griffin (Jr),
Charlie Harris (Jr), Noah Smith (Sr) and
Hunter Wilson (Sr)
Girls 200 Freestyle Relay Team: Cori
Burdette (Fr), Miranda Seegars (Fr), Jessica
Snow (Jr) and Lexi Haggard (Sr)
Girls 400 Freestyle Relay Team: Jennifer
Cope (So), Mika Simpson (Sr), Cori Burdette
(Fr), Lexi Haggard (Sr)
Alex Griffin (Jr) also made the cut in his
50 Free, and Noah Smith (Sr) made the cut
for his 500 Free and his 100 Butterfly.
At this stage of the season, PHS has 5
experienced and 5 first-year swimmers that
will be competing at the Regional level.
PHS is coming off of an impressive week of
competition. Piedmont also swept the meet
Tuesday (Jan 4th) night at the Stanly County
YMCA against Berry Academy, Monroe, Forest
Hills, Albemarle, North Stanly, South
Stanly, West Stanly and South Davidson.
Final scores were:
Boys: Piedmont 84 Girls: Piedmont 110
Piedmont will be swimming next at the
Union County Swim Meet that will be held at
Wingate University on Friday January 14th
with a start time of 3:30pm.
